Bayan Family of Foundations takes its roots from the ABS-CBN Foundation, which piloted micro-lending as one of its programs. That program evolved into the ABS-CBN Bayan Foundation, Inc., a full-fledged micro-lending organization. In 2006, with the overwhelming need to truly alleviate poverty in the communities, Dr. Eduardo Morató, Jr. was appointed to lead the organization. Dr. Morató recognized that it would take more than just credit to bring the poor out of poverty. Thus, he led the organization from the track of microfinance to developing microentrepreneurs.
Bayan Academy was founded in 2009 as Bayan’s knowledge resource center for enterprise development to democratize access to the five Es: entrepreneurship, employment, education, environment, and ethics. It absorbed the ABS-CBN Bayan Foundation in 2012.
Today, we have four foundations: Bayan Academy (training and education); Bayan Innovation Group (research and policy); Bayan EDGE (access to capital and impact investing); and Bayan SEARCH (community enterprise development).
Together, we deliver end-to-end, holistic solutions for social enterprises and MSMEs, taking them through inspiration to implementation, from seed to scale.
Through synergizing and unifying the impact services of its foundations, the Bayan Family of Foundations (BFF) creates end-to-end holistic solutions for social enterprises from inspiration to implementation.
