Prof. Sagun also introduced BFF’s latest social impact initiative, the Bayanihan Fund. Co-managed by BFF’s impact investment arm, Bayan Edge, and real estate and investment advisory Apri Management, Inc., this fund supports the systemic development of social enterprises in the Philippines by providing capital for capacity-building and enterprise growth while addressing critical challenges to sustainable development, including the Philippines’ housing backlog and the long-term viability of housing interventions.
Its goal is to move the sector beyond dependence on one-time grants toward deeper integration with the financial system by establishing multiple area-based SE development funds. The Bayanihan Fund will continue to expand its portfolio to bridge the country’s larger spectrum of socio-economic divides.
